Paul Ponsonby
Director

Paul has spent a lifetime in the transport industry, previously in the family company; working his way through all departments before branching out on his own in 1998. The experience gained along the way, allowed him the insight to know exactly where he wanted the company to focus. He is a strong believer in the power of presentation and passionately believes first impressions are vital in the sales and marketing effort. He is a great advocate of building strong relations with clients and staff alike. On a day to day basis, he works closely with senior staff and is always on hand to share advice or draw upon operational experience where necessary. Away from work, he is a keen traveller and particularly enjoys, cycling, skiing, watching sport and reading.

Linda Wildman
Director

Prior to joining the company, Linda worked for an international vehicle manufacturer. Bringing broad operational experience to the company, when she joined in 2001, as our Commercial Manager. She has a calm, focussed and diligent approach to all tasks. She forms strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike, ensuring we have enduring relationships with clients and a happy and settled workforce. In reflection of these skills, she was promoted to Director in 2007.  Many of our award submissions were at her instigation and their resultant success.   Her hands-on approach ensures there is little in the company which escapes her attention and demonstrates an instinctive understanding of the company aims and aspirations. During this time she has laid the foundations of the entire company support system, which has served us so well. Away from work the Mother of two enjoys foreign holidays, reading, walking, and good food.

Paul Hancock
Head of Operations

A committed family man and proud father of two. Paul previously worked in warehousing for several years, prior to joining the company in 1999. He brings a calm and settled approach to everything he does; drawing on his lengthy experience in warehousing and distribution. He has progressed through the management structure and now fulfils the Head of Operations role. He has a very sharp eye for detail and an uncanny knack of finding solutions for difficult situations. A skill of which he routinely draws upon. His broad experience allows him to offer advice and draw on past experience in all aspects of our Specialist transportation and Contract warehousing operation. Away from work, he has a keen interest in Football, Cricket and Rugby. He and his elder Son are Birmingham City FC season ticket holders and they look forward to cheering the Blues on again soon.

Matt Gostling
Warehouse General Manager
Matt joined Paul Ponsonby Limited in September 2015. Having worked in logistics and distribution for many years he has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience along the way. Starting off in Import and Exports, he has progressed through to his current role as Warehouse General Manager. Matt enjoys change and project management, he is always looking for ways to improve processes and is dedicated to providing excellent customer service. In his spare time, Matt enjoys sports, socialising along with holidays, belly dancing and acrobatics.
Joanne Gumery
Warehouse Commercial Manager
Joanne joined the Company in 2010 and has been responsible for a variety of tasks over the years including sales, account management, marketing and exhibitions. In 2018 she moved to the warehousing side of the business concentrating on the development and upgrade of various integral warehouse services for the benefit of our clients. Joanne was elected onto the UKWA’s Management Board and still holds this position today. She has won two awards to date; UKWA’s Young Employee of the Year in 2012 and Multimodal’s Young Logistics Professional of the Year in 2015. Outside of work Joanne enjoys spending time with her Husband and daughters, holidays and eating out.
Hayley Horton
Office Administrator
Hayley looks after all administration matters and works mainly in our transport operation. Here she ensures customer demands are met promptly and efficiently. She is popular with customer and colleagues alike and is always willing to undertake fresh challenges. Her previous background was also in the transport industry, which eased her passage into this role seamlessly. She has a natural aptitude for customer service and a diligent, flexible and professional approach to all tasks. Her friendly disposition makes her a popular member of the team. Away from work, she has a keen interest in swimming, walking and keeping fit as well as enjoying quality time with her young family.
Sharon Colley
Accounts
Prior to working for Paul Ponsonby Limited, Sharon was a travel agent for many years, planning dream holidays for her customers. Deciding on a change of career, Sharon retrained as an Accounting Bookkeeper, and in 2000 joined Paul Ponsonby Limited to manage their accounts/payroll. Working under her own initiative, Sharon has shown she has a head for numbers and is a pleasure to have in the office. In her spare time Sharon enjoys long walks with her dog Dylan, spending time with her hubbie, holidays, fine dining and socialising.
